Lead Counselor: Lynne Unruh
Greetings Murchison parents and community! I am thrilled to be a member of the Matador Family! I would like to share a few tidbits about me. I have been with AISD for ten years. During this time, I have served as an Elementary Counselor and a Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) Specialist. Fortunately, as an SEL Specialist, I worked with the Anderson Vertical Team elementary campuses. Prior to my time with Austin ISD, I worked as a Special Education teacher for 9 years and then as a Middle School Counselor. I have missed working with the middle school population and am excited to have this opportunity. I look forward to being a part of your community and learning and growing together. You can reach me at firstname.lastname@example.org.

Greetings from the midwest! I am an Illinois girl living in a Texas world. I am thrilled to enter Matador Land! My family and I moved to Cedar Park in the summer of 2016. This fall officially marks twenty-one years as an educator; serving in the capacity of classroom teacher, and the last seven years fully transitioning into the world of mental health. My previous five years were spent training and working as a School Counselor at O’Henry Middle and Nan Clayton Elementary School.
I’m a proud wife and mother of a rising college sophomore and two high schoolers (rising 9th and 12th grade). When I’m not serving in my role, you can find me nestled next to my family engaging in school activities, sporting events, traveling, board games, or enjoying a good movie. My self-care routine often includes cuddling up with a good book or taking walks in nature. I look forward to cultivating supportive, stimulating, and inclusive environments that will allow students to learn how to reach their full potential here at Murchison Middle School.
8th Grade Counselor: Courtney Cardosa, M.Ed., LPC
This is my 20th year as a school counselor and 23rd year in education. I have spent the last 6 years as the counselor at Summitt Elementary where I focused on building a program to support 850 students, their families, and a wonderful staff. Prior to Summitt, I called Pflugerville ISD home for 16 years where I was a counselor and a middle school teacher. I have also spent time practicing private therapy with both adolescents and adults over the years. When not at school, you can find me supporting one of my four children in one of their many activities. I believe strongly that collaboration, communication, and relationships are the keys to happiness and success. I am excited to begin a new chapter supporting the Murchison students, staff, families, and community. Go Mats!
